hello im currently building a detailed economics simulator and my goal is to live a nice simple and fun life i which iam present and agent. For me i feel it is better to view things as individual and local rather than purely environmental. For example theres a atomisation in society but if you view it as i only need 2-5 good friends who accept me for who iam and want to socialise meaning i only need to join one social club or one new environment and pivot from that same applies to relationships. they call this apathy or low desire society but i think GEN Z understands that material items and endless pursuit is not fuffilling us as we only get these items because they are required for social status, quality of living in modern society. the things the capitalists and feudalists monetised that we have access to naturally, some capitalist innovations have been genuienly good and we innovate to life better lives but it has gotten to a point where because of the profit incentive these technologies are not serving our social,cultural and psychological needs. the need for presence,balance and embodiment is a must not matter what society because there has never been a perfect period of time, we had more infant mortality, slavery,war,diesease and famine and whilst iam privellaged to say this when people do expierence it right at this moment, the truth is it that there is less. so now most people deal with problems of agency,addiction, burnout and overwhelm due to long period of low grade stress rather than natural periods of calm followed by short high grade stressors which is replicated in the military to an extent pre ukraine war and drone technology. i was at a small independent festival in cornwall and it imitated a tribal environment with likeminded people. i couldnt believe my eyes when after the main events at 3.00am we gathered round a cob house and had a bonfire, then after deep conversation 50 people turned up started playing bongos and other instruments, chanting in brazilian, clapping and singing, it was beautiful. i was also guarded because there was overbearing pressure from my kin to appear happy and make friends however it happened purely due to the people the environment etc it was so free and non judgemental. with social media you can see fear of judgement is unnaturally high as we are all hyper aware of our identities, the very fact that the english language and modern abrahmic languages are structured so differently to primitive and animal languages means that we are taken out of the present moment. i dont even scroll reels anymore or watch youtube iam now addicted to research,simulations and writing with can be unhealthly and again speak to the fact i myself am overintellectualised and oversocialised.
